The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) responded to 289 calls for service between April 17 and April 24. Among them were 6 general alarm calls, 12 animal complaints, 18 civil situations, 10 requests for a patrol officer, 1 incident of driving under the influence, 39 follow-ups on previous cases, 6 property damage reports, 7 reports of lost or found property, 1 noise complaint and 76 traffic stops. The incidents below are not all encompassing and represent a portion of incidents to which the JCSO responded.

A donkey was reported stolen from the Port Ludlow area at 3:10 p.m., April 17. The donkey was described as an older gray female. Anyone with information should call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 385-3831 and refer to case no. 2017-4144.

Mail was reported to have been stolen on Dabob Road at 5:25 p.m., April 17. The suspect vehicle was described as a brown Chevrolet Blazer, unknown year, with a Chimacum High School logo on the back. Information about the case should be directed to JCSO at 385-3831. The case number is 2017-4149.

A blue-heeler-type, mixed-breed dog was reported in and out of the roadway on Egg and I Road at about 5:47 p.m., April 20. The reporting person took the dog home and is attempting to locate the owner. If you know to whom this dog belongs, call the Sheriff’s Office at 385-3831 and refer to case no. 2017-4285.

A West End deputy responded to the Olympic Corrections Center near Clearwater for a reported assault between inmates at 11:27 p.m., April 20. The case is under investigation.

Shots being fired from a vehicle in front of a home at about 3 a.m., April 22 prompted deputies to respond to the scene at Gibbs Lake and West Valley roads. The suspect vehicle departed the scene prior to the arrival of deputies, but the victim’s description of the vehicle led to deputies subsequently stopping the vehicle near H.J. Carroll Park. The four occupants of the vehicle were arrested on various violations, including drive-by shooting, unlawful possession of a firearm, violation of the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, possession of drug paraphernalia, arrest warrants, and a charge of driving while license is suspended. A pistol located inside the suspect’s vehicle had been reported stolen out of Port Angeles.

A Brinnon resident reported driving past a 12-foot-long travel trailer parked on the side of U.S. Highway 101 at about 12:25 p.m., April 19 and noting that it looked like the trailer he owns. When he arrived home a short time later, he discovered that his travel trailer was missing. He returned to Highway 101 and confirmed that the travel trailer parked on the side of the highway was his.
