Series of 6-hour bridge night closures planned

Motorists who travel along state Route 104 between the North Olympic Peninsula and Kitsap Peninsula during the nighttime hours of Nov. 28 through Dec. 1 may want to plan an alternate route as the Hood Canal Bridge will be closed for six hours at a time. The extended closures will allow crews to perform extensive tests on newly replaced mechanical components, a state Department of Transportation news release stated. The nature of the tests and the tight timeframes needed to complete them will prohibit intermittent traffic openings. The Hood Canal Bridge will close to all traffic during the following times: Wednesday, Nov. 28, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.
