The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was searching Saturday for a Port Townsend man who is suspected of murder.
Blake R. Fox of Port Townsend is suspected in the murder of a man who was found shortly after midnight Friday with a gunshot wound in Quilcene, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Fox is currently wanted for second-degree murder and was still at large before 11 a.m. Saturday.
The shooting victim was found unconscious when deputies arrived at the scene, and authorities said he later died from his injuries.
A witness identified Fox as the gunman, and said he fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Fox is believed to be armed with a weapon, paranoid and under the influence of drugs, according to the sheriff’s office.
He fled from the scene in a 2008 Ford F-150, license number C63995F.
Detectives with the sheriff’s office were gathering evidence at the crime scene Saturday morning, with assistance from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab.
Authorities are asking anyone with information on Fox’s whereabouts to call 911.
Fox should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said, and the public should not try to apprehend him.
Anyone who has information on the incident should contact Detective Art Frank at afrank@co.jefferson.wa.us or through emergency dispatchers at 360-344-9779.
