American Legion Marvin G. Shields Post 26’s annual scholarships once again are to be awarded to three graduating seniors from East Jefferson County high schools. The deadline for application is April 7.
Three scholarships of $1,200 each are available for graduating seniors seeking to attend college or for accredited vocational/technical training.
“This is the third year we have awarded scholarships, and we have chosen to raise the amount awarded this year for these scholarships,” said Post Commander Andy Okinczyc. “We are extremely proud to support our communities’ youth and their future endeavors.”
The application package is available through counselors at Port Townsend, Chimacum and Quilcene high schools. It is also available in electronic form by contacting Nancy McDaniel at 360-732-0271.
