The city of Port Townsend will provide a community development block grant loan worth $34,061 to the Rose Theater for repairs to its building on Taylor Street.
The loan was initially approved March 17, and the Port Townsend City Council unanimously approved a resolution at its Monday, April 4 meeting to disperse the funds to the theater.
The loan money will be used to construct wood trim repairs on the front and back of the theater’s building, repair fire doors, fix the corrugated metal windows, and apply new paint to parts of the building exterior.
The city will administer the loan as a 10-year, 5 percent interest rate agreement.
