Robert G. Harms, of Spokane, WA, died unexpectedly on February 18, 2019. He was known as Bocci Harms during his school years and as Bobby Harms into adulthood.
He was born in Port Townsend on September 17, 1968 to Richmond G. Harms (deceased) and Jessie (Harms) Dover. He was the grandson of the late Wilbur and Leila Harms and the great-grandson of Paul and Evelyn Guilford.
Bobby graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1987. He attended Peninsula College and graduated from Evergreen College. He married Anna Davies (Frank) and they had one daughter, Winter Tuesday Harms.
Bobby worked for the US Department of Interior as a Park Ranger, primarily in the Olympic National Park. He also worked various jobs locally and across the country, ending at Caterpillar in Spokane, Washington. Throughout his adult life he was an entrepreneur which suited his creative and resourceful nature.
Bobby was a natural and gifted horseman. He grew up riding ponies and, later, Arabian horses. As a youth, he took pride working in the family business, Guilford Packing Co, a clam cannery and seafood processing plant. He was a lover of the outdoors and had a lifelong interest in ecology and conservation.
Bobby is survived by his daughter Winter Harms, his mother and step-father, Jessie and Dave Dover, his brother Lee G. Harms and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
The family invites all who knew him to join in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 29th at the Palindrome Arcadia Country Estate, 1983 S. Jacob Miller Road, Port Townsend. Meet and Greet at 3:30pm, Ceremony at 4:00pm followed by a potluck and live music.
