The East Jefferson Rivals boys and girls cross-country teams each placed first at their only home meet of the season Oct. 5 at the Port Townsend Golf Course.
The meet had two races for the girls and boys teams, respectively, with a 2-mile course looping around the golf course.
Charles Wright Academy and Cascade Christian School participated in the meet, but the Rivals dominated at home, with two of their athletes finishing in first place and the girls and boys teams placing in first overall.
Rivals senior Max Allworth-Miles won the boys event, with junior Sebastion Manza placing second.
Sophomore Aliyah Yearian of East Jefferson came in first for the girls, with junior Camryn Hines finishing in third place.
The top times for East Jefferson boys runners were Allworth-Miles (10:41), Manza (10:52), and fourth-place runner Glen Dawson (10:54).
The top times for the Rivals girls were Yearian (12:22), Hines (13:11), and sixth-place finisher Lia Poore (14:16).
The Rivals cross-country team’s next meet will be Thursday, Oct. 21 for the Nisqually League Cross Country Championship at Form Steilacoom Park in Lakewood.
