Rhody Run Redux 2022 will kick off in a new location this year.

The event — which includes a 5K walk/run or the 10K walk/run — is Sunday, May 22.

The revamped race will start and finish at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, with the Rhody Run 10K beginning at 9, followed by the 5K at 9:15 a.m. (Kids under 5 can get moving at 9 a.m.)

The registration fee is $45 per participant and includes the “Rhody Run shirt,” produced by The Sign Station. Sign-ups continue through midnight Wednesday, May 18 at www.rhodyrun.com. Kids under 5 can participate for free and will receive a complimentary T-shirt and bib at packet pick-up.

The Rhody Run is returning following a two-year hiatus from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Proceeds from the Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run Redux are returned to the community in the form of funding support for school sports programs and youth-oriented nonprofit organizations.

This year’s recipients include Jumping Mouse Children’s Center, The Benji Project, Quilcene/Brinnon Dollars for Scholars, and East Jefferson Rivals Athletics.

Nearly all the work that goes into making the Rhody Run happen is done by volunteers.

The Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run Redux is organized and produced by the Port Townsend Marathon Association, a charitable nonprofit organization with a mission to foster and encourage runners of all ages, both in the school system and in the community at large.

Rhody Run organizers give special thanks to Thunderbull and The Production Alliance for their assistance with the course set up; Quilcene Oyster Run organizers helping as course marshals; and the Kiwanis Club for sponsoring the Mile 4 water/aid station. Port Townsend Food Co-op, Elevated Ice Cream, and Fairwinds Winery are also supporting the racers with free or discounted food or beverages.
