I GUESS WE’VE LOST A LOT due to the Covid pandemic since the last Port Townsend Alumni Association reunion and banquet was held in 2019. But the other day I received announcement from alumni, -ae president Mary Baker Crozier that things are back on for the second Saturday in June, to wit:

“Please join us for the 125th annual PTHS Alumni Banquet on Saturday, June 11th at the Elks. You will find the banquet order and dues form, with dinner options, and the golf tournament registration form, in this newsletter. “If for any reason you didn’t get the message — or know someone who isn’t “wired” — don’t be shy about getting a query to Mary C, (pthsalumnipres@gmail.com or 360-531-0200). Or some of you may have masking or social distancing queries.

Hate to miss my 75th graduation anniversary, but I’ll have to root from the sidelines this year.

Meanwhile, I’ll put my money on Jack Caldwell, class of 1942, who recently celebrated locally his 98th birthday. I hope he will be on hand and among those captured by Jan Klockers Boutilier (pthsalum68@gmail.com) and her trusty camera.

I devoted part of the past week to spring company, gardening and a trashed computer station, but hope to get back into a “normal” routine soon. I don’t have much to say about the accompanying photo except that Stan and I worked part-time at the Leader together in 1944 until he began turning out with the football team. We played trumpet together in the high school band beginning in eighth grade. Bob and I were chums later on.
