Gov. Inslee has asked for more than $5 million in our state budget to cover the costs of family planning services.
This is essential due to the low reimbursement rate paid by Medicaid.
Due to lack of funding, three primary services for rural and low-income women have had to close this past month. More will close if this funding is not approved. Women who use Planned Parenthood need a reliable source of contraception, abortion, STD tests, HPV vaccine, and other cancer testing services. It is critical that the Legislature fully approve the governor’s budget request, which he has called an investment to ensure patients with low incomes maintain access to reproductive health care.
Please contact your legislators and ask them to support the governor’s budget request.
