Local artist, arts therapist, and creativity guide Katy Morse is offering a course of awakening, awareness, and potential with Rainbow Deva Story Painting.

In this creative series of self-discovery, participants will learn to paint their chakra energy bodies from the inside out using easy-to-follow painting techniques, through meditation, and with the help of creative writing.

Morse described the intention of the series as “to enliven all areas of who you are – body, mind, spirit – and to awaken healing through creativity.”

These classes are meant to stimulate and unblock oneself, to activate and to connect the whole self, to shift perceptions and find energy potential.

The series is split up into four sessions that build onto one painting.

For four Mondays during the month of August, participants will learn the basics, grow their knowledge, activate their energy, and refine and integrate their message.

Focusing on with the seven main chakras of the body, the story-painting course begins with tuning into the attributes of the chakra, figuring out what they are, where they are, and how they function.

Then, grounding meditation takes place which brings attention inward, lighting up the chakras inside. After, painting ensues to translate that inner experience into an outward expression.

Chakras are wheels of energy created within the body. The conscious awareness of these energy centers within us activates a life force.

From the base of the spine to the crown of the head, each chakra has multiple characteristics. Each chakra is connected to a different level, or vibration of color, emotion, a manifestation of a part of the whole, the instructor explained.

“We examine the associations that each chakra has to our personal energies of survival, emotions, power, love, communication, intuition, and understanding,” she said.

“This painted in symbols and shapes and colors, we’re calling in the elements of earth, water, fire, air, plus sound, light, and thought.”

“As our awareness grows, the painting builds on layers and depths of perception. Eventually, a figure emerges: Our Rainbow Deva who comes out of this field that we’ve painted and is a representation of the journey we are experiencing through waking up our chakra energy centers,” she continued.

The Rainbow Deva that emerges is your personal awakening, your chakra energy activation, and in turn the enlivening of who you are.

This creative series was born from Morse’s desire to integrate her studies in energy medicine with the Color of Woman painting method, she explained.

“The merging of the energy medicine with the painting is creating this whole new level … a portal, a gateway that is shifting my perceptions and also enhancing my personal abilities to manifest who I am and what I want to be on the planet,” Morse said, describing her use of creativity as a pathway of becoming.

She is eager to share it with her community.

“I’m just really excited about being able to share these transformational pathways to help other people shift and shape their lives,” Morse said, “and connect with those who are open to and longing for positive change, not only in their personal lives, but in the world overall.”

“My belief is that transformational shift that we’re experiencing on the planet and within humanity begins within ourselves, each one of us. As we do our personal healing, that helps shift the energy for everyone,” she added.

The sessions will take place in person at Morse’s private Port Townsend studio, painting outdoors when the weather permits.

Whether a student of energy medicine or beginning on your path, all adults are welcome. Experience in painting is not required to participate.
