Friends, family and the entire Quilcene schools community sported their best Seahawks gear Friday as junior Megan Weller was honored as the Week Five CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week.

Weller, a right-side hitter on Quilcene High School's volleyball team, was selected based on her dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership and athletic performance.

Representatives from CenturyLink Inc., Sports Authority and Q13 Fox joined Seattle Seahawks Sea Gal Tamaria in the high school's gym to present Weller with a customized football, a customized Seahawks jersey, and tickets and sideline passes to the Seahawks-Cowboys game on Sunday, Oct. 12.

Weller also accepted a $1,200 gift card supported by Sports Authority from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for the Quilcene Athletic Department.

Weller has maintained a 3.986 GPA while serving in multiple leadership positions for her school.

She is a two-time class president and served as both a secretary in 2012 and the vice president for the Quilcene High School National Honor Society in 2013.

She is a three-sport athlete for Quilcene, where she captains both her volleyball and softball teams. She was voted Most Valuable Player for her basketball team and was selected to the All-Sea-Tac League first team.

Weller is a Mathlete who received the American Association of University Women math award. She is active in her community and participates in programs such as 4-H.

She furthers her commitment to her teams and community by helping raise money for camps around the area.

Weller is set to be recognized both during Sunday's game broadcast on television and on the HawkVision video board at CenturyLink Field. She also receives a CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week letterman jacket patch.
