The Rangers, running away.

That about describes the first quarter — and the game — in boys varsity football Saturday between Quilcene and Muckeshoot.

Quilcene jumped out to a 14-0 and easily rolled to a 52-14 win for the Rangers’ fourth win in a row.

The Rangers scored on their first play from scrimmage on a Nate Kieffer pass to Kevin Alejo, who ran it for a 54-yard touchdown.

Isaiah Reimann split the posts for the extra point.

Kieffer connected with a toss to Austin Hough for a 27-yard touchdown before the end of the quarter, and an extra point by Reimann gave the Rangers their early 14-0 advantage.

The Rangers poured it on in the second.

The first touchdown of the second stanza came courtesy of Alejo, who scampered in from 27 yards for six.

Hough followed with a pick six that went 48 yards; Isaiah  Reimann tacked on the extra point kick.

Bishop Budnek busted loose on a 38-yard run later in the second quarter to put Quilcene on top, 33-0.

Reimann broke loose for a seven-yard touchdown run that put the score at 39-0.

Muckleshoot finally answered with a 60-yard touchdown pass before the break and it was 39-6.

Donovin Opulencia-Rogers scored the only touchdown in the third quarter, a 7-yard touchdown run that gave the Rangers a 45-6 edge.

In the fourth, Opulencia-Rogers rambled for 51 yards for his second touchdown of the game.

With a Reimann extra-point kick that followed, the Rangers closed out their scoring at 52 points.

Muckleshoot managed an eight-yard touchdown run, followed by a 2-point conversion pass, that iced the scoring at 52-14.
