Quentin Goodrich, 89, passed away peacefully on Dec. 16, 2020.

Quentin was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Quentin studied at Augsburg University, studied at Luther Seminary, and received a Master of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.

Quentin and his wife, Joy, lived in Port Ludlow and actively served our community for more than 40 years. Quentin and Joy started and operated SOS Printing and a tax preparation business until retirement.

Quentin’s commitment to the community was extraordinary. He personified the Rotary ethos of service above self. He had deep involvement in Port Townsend and East Jefferson Rotary clubs including serving as club president and holding a term as the Rotary District’s first Assistant Governor. Beyond that, he served on the boards of the United Good Neighbors, he was the first ever president of the Wooden Boat Foundation, Chair of the Community Counseling Board, and was elected twice to serve on the Chimacum School Board, serving over two decades. He was proud to personally award each of his three granddaughters their graduation certificate at their graduation ceremony. He was elected twice as President of the Washington State School Directors Association.

Quentin and Joy were an enthusiastic Rotary host family and hosted several Rotary Youth Exchange students over the years.

Quentin is survived by his children, Lindsey Reed and Dean Goodrich and stepchildren Ginger Brown, Doug Peckman and Tom Peckman. He was predeceased by his wife Joy Goodrich, his brother, Robert Goodrich and stepson, Martin Peckman.

A memorial service for Quentin will be planned when the pandemic recedes, and we can gather once again.
