PT resident is always thankful for this place that we call home | Letter to the editor

In the end all that really matters is how you live your life — day by day and how much kindness you can share with others.

When I consider the essential gifts in my life it has always come down to the gifts of true friendship.

That includes the dog and cat companions I have had the beauty of living with over the years as well as the rare gifts of people who are willing to share rides and ideas and smiles and an honest word. Through all the years of living here I have learned to appreciate those gifts more and more.

In looking into my own heart I have found forgiveness and understanding through compassion.

I sometimes need to ask others for help but I know that each of us has our own story with ups and downs, trials and joys. If we take time to listen to one another without judging, we can arrive to a new place of cooperation.

It’s the beginning of June and with the sweet scent of pear blossoms and the beauty of the yellow sand verbena at the beach, I wanted to take time to be thankful for this place I call home.
