Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers will host an online presentation next week aimed at helping people navigate landlord-tenant issues.
The event is titled “Transitioning from the Eviction Moratorium: A summary of the recent changes in eviction laws and resources in Washington state.”
The presentation is planned for Friday, Sept. 24.
Steve Robins, senior attorney at the Northwest Justice Project’s local field office, will present a summary of the changes in the laws for tenants, the two bills currently in effect, and right to counsel.
Sam Feinson, a Jefferson County attorney, will focus on issues from a landlord’s perspective.
Cherish Cronmiller, executive director of Olycap, will provide information on available resources and the application process. Once the presentations are complete, participants will be able to ask questions.
The program is open to the public. There is no charge for attendance but donations to CJCPBL to help community residents with their civil legal needs is encouraged. (Donations can be mailed to CJCPBL at PO Box 901, Port Angeles, WA 98362. Contributions can also be made at cjcpbl.org.)
Attorneys that attend will receive CLE credit.
