I am writing this with a very heavy heart to alert all the people who know me and my border collie Zera, that she had a stroke last Saturday.
I woke up and instead of her getting up and jumping off my bed, I helped her stand and she just fell forward and did a header forward and fell head first off the bed and laid all out on the floor.
Over the course of last week she has regained partial function of her legs and is walking, somewhat unsteady-like, but walking just the same.
I would like to thank all the folks who have expressed concern for Zera and have sent me prayers. Thank you all and keep the prayers coming!
We have rehab set for next week to gauge the severity of the stroke and plan treatment. But how do you tell your pet how much they mean to you? Zera is my life and has been for the last 15 years-her whole life with me! I hope God hasn’t given up on me and will throw some LOVE towards my best friend, that I sometimes wonder if I am worthy of such a great dog!
