Wendy Feltham has been appointed to a two-year term on the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee.
Feltham will serve as the Jefferson County citizen representative in the category of “scientific community.”
The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approved her appointment at its meeting Monday.
Feltham, 67, is a retired elementary school teacher who moved to the area about 10 years ago. A Port Townsend resident, she completed the Jefferson Land Trust’s Northwest Naturalist Program and cofounded the organization’s Natural History Society. She also completed the WSU Beachwatchers Program in 2013, and volunteers regularly at the Port Townsend Marine Science Center.
Members of the North Pacific Coast Marine Resources Committee interviewed Feltham for the committee vacancy Dec. 7, and recommended her to the appointment.
