At 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the 1200 block of Water Street, someone reported a dog barking in a car with all the windows rolled up.

An officer came onto the scene and observed that the dog was fine and not in any danger. The officer told the reporting party that they would check on the canine later.

At 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, a caller in the 900 block of Washington Street asked for someone to be trespassed from their business.

A business owner in the same block had entered the caller’s business and started yelling at them about their streatery and how it was taking away parking spots.

The angry person was asked several times to leave, but refused. Officers arrived and served the angry business owner a trespass admonishment and told them that if they entered the property again, they would be arrested.

At 11:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, in the 800 block of F Street, a caller reported that their car had been broken into. The car had been left unlocked and had no visible damage to it.

At 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, a caller in the 2000 block of Washington Street told police that a group of people had been harassing his wife.

They’d been antagonizing her on social media and calling her names, according to the caller. He said that someone had also stolen items out of his Jeep and messed with the vehicle the night before. The caller wanted to file harassment charges.

Officers came to the caller’s home and spoke with the man and his wife. She told officers that she didn’t want to report anything to them.

Then, the man told officers that he wanted to report his wife for taking $500 from him. The wife told police that he had given it to her.

Officer suspected the man may be suffering from a mental health condition.

At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, a car prowler was reported in the 1900 block of 21st Street after a nearby vehicle’s driver-side window had been broken.

The vehicle’s owner said that nothing was missing.

A video captured the window being broken and showed three teens breaking into the car. One was identified as a 16-year-old neighbor. The total damage is estimated around $150.

At 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, a caller in the 500 block of Sheridan Street asked police to check on a woman laying in the entrance of a nearby building. The woman had been there for 20 minutes.

Officers arrived to find she appeared to have been sleeping. She said she didn’t need any assistance.
