The Port Townsend Police Department received a total of 173 calls between Friday, April 8, and Thursday, April 14. Below are selected reports.

At 10 p.m. Saturday, April 9, a caller in the 2600 block of Washington Street reported two women in a nearby bathroom doing drugs. Security at the property checked out the bathroom but the women had left. Officers arrived later on and located three people with dogs in the restroom.

The three people told officers that somebody with a code — needed to enter the bathroom — had let them in. Police told the three to leave, and if they returned, they would be trespassed. There was no evidence of drug use in the restroom.

At 11:45 p.m. Saturday, April 9, someone in the 800 block of 57th Street told police they’d heard five to 10 gunshots in the area. A second caller told police the same, and officers arrived in the area shortly after. Officers searched the location but were unable to find anything suspicious or hear anything.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, April 10, at the Franklin and Scott streets intersection, somebody reported a deer that had been critically wounded and was walking around. The caller said the deer’s stomach had been slashed open and it was bleeding. Officers arrived in the area but couldn’t locate the deer.

At 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 11, a woman in the 900 block of Grant Street reported possible identity theft. She told police that she felt like her email and TurboTax accounts had been hacked. She said it looked like her Turbotax account had been accessed by an outside party.

Police advised that she change the password on her email and Turbotax accounts.

At 12:05 p.m. Monday, April 11, a caller at the Sims Way and Rainier Street intersection reported being harassed by a driver. The caller was riding their scooter vehicle at the roundabout when a person in an orange Ford Escape approached them and started honking and yelling obscenities at the caller.

The caller drove their scooter to a nearby parking lot and was followed by the Ford. The Ford owner confronted the caller and pulled out pepper spray, which they didn’t use, and left the area shortly after.

The caller wasn’t interested in a follow-up and just wanted to alert the police about the incident.

At 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the 200 block of Thomas Street, someone reported items being stolen from their work truck. Items stolen included a five-gallon gas canister, a Gorilla-brand black-and-yellow handcart, and other items. The vehicle owner had cameras on their property when the items were stolen, and is attempting to get video evidence for police.

The total value of the stolen items was $341. At this time there are no leads or suspects.

At 9:30 p.m. Monday, April 11, a store manager in the 400 block of Sims Way reported a thief in their store. The shoplifter had taken an estimated $30 worth of items.

The manager confronted the woman about the stolen items, and she gave them back soft drinks but not the rest of the stolen stuff. She left the property in a vehicle, and officers were unable to locate the woman.
