The caller heard a noise in their garage and wanted police to investigate. Officers arrived and checked out the property, but didn’t find anything.

At 3 p.m. Friday, March 25, in the 500 block of Polk Street, a resident called police on behalf of their neighbor, whose house appeared to have been broken into.

Officers arrived at the home and found broken glass from the front door along with a child’s play set that was broken. Nobody was in or around the property.

At 4 p.m. Friday, March 25, a woman in the 100 block of 24th Street reported that two trash bags and several boxes were put into her trash can without her permission.

She was afraid that there could be a dead body or something sinister in the bags and boxes, and requested for police to investigate the trash. Officers opened the boxes and bags and did not find anything suspicious. They told the woman to put her trash can inside to prevent a similar situation from occurring again in the future.

At 5 p.m. Friday, March 25, a caller in the 1900 block of Blaine Street told police that her dog had been bitten by another canine at the dog park.

The aggressive dog was a boxer mix, and its owner left the park in her vehicle shortly after the incident. The owner was described as a woman in her 60s. The caller took their pet to the veterinarian and the dog had received puncture wounds on its neck.

Officers told the caller that the incident would be documented. The injured animal is at home resting, and is expected to make a full recovery.

At 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Sims Way and Hancock Street intersection, a suspicious man was reported in the area. The man was riding a bike but appeared to be figuring how to ride it properly.

Officers arrived and spoke to the man, and he was advised to stay out of the road. The man went on his way.

At 6 p.m. Friday, March 25, two women were in the Water Street and Adams Street intersection, and both appeared to be intoxicated. One woman began throwing up on the sidewalk while the other was lying with her back on the sidewalk with alcohol bottles scattered nearby.

Officers responded and were unable to locate the women.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 26, there was a report in the 1000 block of Jackson Street of a dog locked in a car with no windows open.

Bystanders said the animal had been in the vehicle for over an hour and wasn’t moving a lot. An officer arrived and observed the dog, who was alert and interactive. It was 50 degrees out and the dog was not in danger, so the officer moved along.

At 3:50 p.m. Saturday, March 26, a caller at the Sheridan and Seventh streets intersection reported a potential domestic abuse situation.

A man and woman were observed in the QFC parking lot, and the man was seen trying to restrain the woman.

At 7:50 p.m. Saturday, March 26, a business owner in the 600 block of Polk Street reported a social media post to police.

The owner saw that somebody posted images of their business with GPS data and other pictures and claimed that they had been neglecting animals at the business.

At 10:10 p.m. Saturday, March 26, two hotel guests in the 600 block of Cleveland Street got into a physical altercation after drinking.

A hotel employee reported the situation to police after the guests broke a window in their room, and a subsequent argument broke out between the three over a room key and the window.

The guests, a man and woman, left the property after hearing that police were called, and the employee witnessed the female guest slap the man in the face. Officers contacted the two at a nearby parking lot and discovered that both had a protection order against each other. There was probable cause for an arrest for assault and violation of a court order, and officers arrested and jailed the woman.

At 8 a.m. Sunday, March 27, a caller in the 3200 block of Hill Street wanted police to perform a welfare check on an elderly man.

The caller hadn’t heard from him in days and he normally responded to emails within a day of receiving them.
