At 2 p.m. Friday, May 13, a resident in the 700 block of S Street reported suspicious activity near her home.

She told police that two nights prior she had been woken up in the middle of the night by a light shining near her window. After looking out, the woman had noticed a man walking down the street and looking into the windows of multiple homes in the area.

No description was given of the suspicious man’s appearance.

At 11:40 a.m. Saturday, May 14, in the 600 block of Tyler Street, a caller reported a man nearby that was being “creepy” around kids.

The caller said the man had been watching kids from his car at the farmers market, and told police she had a bad feeling about the situation.

The man later got out of his vehicle and began talking to a little boy on a bike. The man was described as wearing a suit coat and a kilt. Officers arrived at the location and searched the area for the man. They located the man’s vehicle but he was nowhere to be seen.

At 2:50 p.m. Saturday, May 14, a resident in the 600 block of Clay Street reported to police that a neighbor had threatened bodily harm.

Officers called the resident back, who told them that the neighbor was using fighting words and had no idea why. They wanted to report the incident to police and would call back if the dispute escalates in the future.

At 5:50 p.m. Saturday, May 14, a caller near the Towne Point Avenue and Summit Way intersection reported that they’d seen a man walking with a small child that appeared to be naked.

The man was wearing a bathrobe and the two appeared to be walking around freely and not doing anything suspicious. The man even gave a friendly wave to the caller at one point.

At 10:50 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the 2200 block of Towne Point Avenue, a noise complaint was made regarding a screaming woman. The screaming had been ongoing throughout the day, and an officer drove to the area to check on the woman.

The officer contacted the woman who said that she was fine and didn’t need any help. The woman appeared to be in good health and the officer left.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, May 15, a neighbor near the 14th Street and Discovery Road intersection reported hearing a loud, barking dog close by.

The barking has been an ongoing issue, and the dog lives at a farm nearby.

An officer contacted the canine’s owner, who said that she’d applied a bark collar on the dog and that it is at the farm to protect chickens. The dog owner wanted to know the rules regarding the canine’s barking and was advised to contact an animal control deputy at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

At 12 p.m. Sunday, May 15, a caller in the 2000 block of East Sims Way asked police to do a welfare check on a woman in the area.

The woman was in her 40s and sitting in a Lincoln Town Car that was filled with garbage and had two young kids in it. An officer went to the location and was unable to locate the woman or the vehicle.
