The Port Townsend Police department received a total of 159 calls between Friday, Oct. 8, and Thursday, Oct. 14. Below are selected reports.

At 6:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, a teenage girl who had been expelled from all school activities was trespassed from Memorial Field. She was asked to leave, but refused and assaulted two officers. A second juvenile obstructed officers. The girl was removed from the property.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, a caller reported that a woman driving a white car in the 1100 block of Water Street had driven over a curb and hit the curb and a sign. The caller described the driver as a white woman in her 50s, with a black-and-white polka dot umbrella, wearing hot pink high heels. She was seen by Sirens Pub.

An officer located the vehicle, which was illegally parked, but there was no sign of damage to the car or surrounding area. The officer was unable to locate the driver.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, someone called to complain about loud music with “too much bass” being played in the 600 block of Clay Street. The person called back to let officers know the music had been turned down.

At 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9,  a caller reported that multiple teens were banging on doors, and that a child in the caller’s home was scared. The caller attempted to talk to the teens, who fled.

When officers arrived, the teens were smoking. The teens were apologetic and cooperative, stating that they didn’t mean to scare anyone, and that they were going home for the rest of the night.

At 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct.10,  a man at the checkout counter at the Safeway Fast Stop was reported to be having mental health issues. He took off his shirt, and became verbally aggressive before going outside and riffling through a car.

When officers arrived, the man said he was moving his car.

At  9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, a caller from the 100 block of F Street reported an unwelcome visitor who’d been approaching their residence for the past month and a half.

Initially, a woman appeared at the door, homeless and in need of help. The woman was given a jacket. She came back during the night.

A few weeks later, the woman was observed looking through the windows of the caller’s home, possibly with a man. One night when the caller went to retrieve something from their car, the woman and a man were outside with a flashlight. The woman said they were looking for coyotes.

At 3:45 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, a man was reported passed out, face down, in the 900 block of Park Avenue. He yelled at the caller when they approached.

Officers found a 45 year-old man who was dirty and was wearing a camouflage backpack. He was extremely impaired, but somewhat cooperative. Officers escorted him to a nearby park. He left his backpack and walked away after taking a resource card from the Navigator for follow-up.

At 6:20 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, a caller from the 700 block of Wilson Street reported a car prowl.

A younger man in his 20s was yelling and screaming, and the vehicle door was locked. He was then seen throwing rocks on the road.

The man took off on foot through private property and broke a wooden fence.

He then started acting aggressively and assumed a fighter stance. The sheriff’s department assisted; a deputy told the man he would be tased but the shock seemed to have no effect.

The next time the taser was used, the man tore the prongs out of the device. The deputy then used pepper mace and the man was taken into custody.

At 12:15 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, in the 1300 block of Corona Street, a caller said she was concerned that the lights in an RV she was renting out were on when she came home, because the renter was in the hospital.

Officers arrived and knocked on the door, but no one answered. The woman was advised to create a rental agreement.

At  1:50 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, a caller from the RV park near Doc’s Marina Grill reported a man with a car parked on the beach. He was wearing a blue hoodie, and didn’t appear to be camping there.

The caller found the man’s behavior suspicious.
