Port Ludlow Performing Arts opens its new season with free bubbly

In a world where prices seem to be skyrocketing everywhere, wouldn’t it be nice if someone offered the public something that was absolutely 100% free?

Port Ludlow Performing Arts (PLPA) is doing just that in their first concert of the new season. The show is dubbed their “champagne opener,” wherein all attendees are offered free champagne (as long as they are old enough to legally consume alcohol). It’s a tradition that PLPA has been offering ticket holders at the season opener for years.

The concert at the Port Ludlow Bay Club starts at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept.  27, featuring Pipeline Vocal Project, a contemporary a capella trio from Anchorage, Alaska. The group includes Lisa Hawkins, Molly Dieni and Taylor Siebert.

Their show features genre-bends and musical time travel. Covering songs by Bruno Mars, Billie Eilish, Charlie Puth, Lizzo, Khalid, Jason Derulo, Disney and many more, it’s fresh, energized and nostalgic.

Performing top hits from all eras with a unique twist, these three women have the voices, the style and the moves. Hopping through genres and decades from start to finish, you will be entertained with clever arrangements, amazing harmonies and the soundscape of a band coming from three voices.

Since their inception in 2019, Pipeline Vocal Project has been breaking down barriers by being one of the only groups of its kind in the nation. Their diverse makeup, artistic vocal arrangements and high-energy performance has led them to perform in over 12 countries, gain over 300,000 followers online and perform at the 2020 World Expo in Dubai, among many other nations.

All artists in their own right, Pipeline Vocal Project has come together to create an epic show and will bring you a performance unlike any you have ever seen before.

Pipeline Vocal Project was initially founded by Lisa Hawkins as a project to help cultivate the contemporary a cappella scene in Alaska, where contemporary vocal music had not made its way into the local culture quite yet. She started recruiting for the project in 2019 and found two strangers along the way, Taylor Seibert and Molly Dieni.

By 2020, the trio was in full swing, and Pipeline took off.

Five years since their inception, PVP has performed for global audiences everywhere from cruise ships to festivals to stadium shows.
