The Port Ludlow Art League has selected Sheryl Goldsberry as Jeweler of the Month and Joan Astin as its Artist of the Month for April.
Goldsberry has designed a collection of Shattered Glass pendant necklaces and earrings in a variety of colors in celebration of women who have shattered the glass ceiling.
Shattered Glass jewelry is handmade and unique, and is intended to serve as a statement and acknowledgement of achievement for all women.
Goldsberry’s jewelry is on display in April at the Sound Community Bank, the Port Ludlow Art Gallery, and online at www.portludlowart.org.
Inspired by artists Fran Bodman and Di Maneval, and subsequently studying under Marti Mathis, Astin embarked on a journey to master the art of watercolors.
Although she was intimidated by watercolors at first, Astin found Mathis to be an incredibly patient and encouraging teacher, league officials noted.
It wasn’t long before Astin was painting up a storm, using both watercolors and watercolor pencils.
The artist is delighted to share her work with the community.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to show my artwork, one of the many joys of joining the Port Ludlow Art League,” Astin said.
Astin’s artwork will be on display at Sound Community Bank in Port Ludlow and online at www.portludlowart.org.
People who would like to purchase Astin’s artwork or Goldsberry’s jewelry can email info@portluldowart.org to make a sales appointment or drop by the Port Ludlow Art Gallery between noon and 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The Gallery is located next to Sound Community Bank at the corner of Oak Bay Road and Osprey Ridge Drive in Port Ludlow.
