The Port Townsend Police Department received 165 calls for service during the week of Nov. 4-10, which included the following number of calls in the following categories:

On Nov. 4 at 6:59 a.m. at Blaine and Monroe, a woman called police after a man jumped in front of her vehicle and started yelling at her. Police contacted the man, who said he was upset over an unrelated matter not involving the woman, and he was on his way to a treatment meeting. Police warned him about his behavior and the man apologized, stating he would behave himself.

On Nov. 4 at 10:33 a.m. in the 200 block of Taylor, a bicyclist reported a vehicle illegally passed them into oncoming traffic, as the bicyclist was traveling at the speed limit.

On Nov. 4 at 1:51 p.m. in the 500 block of Hendricks Street, a woman called police for a man pounding on her door and yelling. The man had been previously trespassed from her property. Police arrested the man for criminal trespass.

On Nov. 4 at 1:59 p.m. in the 3800 block of Hastings, police were called to assist county deputies at a treatment facility, for a man in a behavioral health crisis and threatening to assault staff. The man was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

On Nov. 4 at 2:42 p.m. in the 800 block of Washington Street, a person called police to report their door handle and lock were damaged, and they were concerned that someone had tried to break into the house. They also stated a package was stolen from in front of the door back in August.

On Nov. 4 at 5:22 p.m. in the 800 block of Sheridan Street, police were called for a mental health patient leaving the hospital, and the hospital wanting him returned. The man, on his own initiative, returned to the hospital.

On Nov. 5 at 10:13 a.m. in the 800 block of Washington Street, police were called for a suspicious man and woman looking in vehicles, lingering behind a business, and picking up cigarettes off the ground. Police contacted the couple, who stated they were homeless, having recently come to Port Townsend from Seattle, and were only picking up cigarette butts to “roll cigarettes.”

On Nov. 5 at 1:21 p.m. in the 800 block of Sheridan Street, police were called for a person with mental health issues leaving the hospital. He was located in the parking lot and convinced by staff to return to the hospital.

On Nov. 5 at 3:01 a.m. in the 1200 block of McPherson, a police officer saw a woman sitting on the fog line of the road, who seemed confused. The officer spoke with her, and gave her a courtesy ride to her home.

On Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. in the 900 block of Cherry, a person reported a man, who appeared intoxicated and was staggering with low-hanging pants and his underwear showing. The man ended up sprawled out on the front steps of a residence. The man was evaluated by medical aid, and was taken to his home at his request.

On Nov. 5 at 5:52 p.m. in the 2300 block of Sims Way, police were called for an intoxicated man who walked into the street. Police contacted the man, who was moderately intoxicated, and also had leg mobility issues from a previous surgery. Police gave him a ride to his intended local destination.

On Nov. 5 at 6:26 p.m. at Hastings and Discovery, police were called for a man slumped over on the sidewalk. Police spoke with the man, who was coherent but obviously intoxicated. He refused to be seen by a medical aid crew. Police gave him a ride to his home.

On Nov. 5 at 7:18 p.m. in the 200 block of Polk Street, a person reported their keys were stolen while they were left in a shop door for a brief period, while the person went to get something. A locksmith was contacted to replace the door locks.

On Nov. 5 at 7:55 p.m. at Sims and Sheridan, a patrol officer came across multiple vehicles stopped in the roadway. Causing them to stop was an extremely intoxicated man stumbling in the roadway. He was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.

On Nov. 6 at 12:19 p.m. in the 1500 block of Van Ness, a bag with suspected marijuana was located on a high school student. Police transported the student to Juvenile Services.

On Nov. 6 at 12:32 p.m. in the 600 block of Water Street, a store called to report a transient was going in and out of the store, ranting and harassing customers for money, making customers and store staff uncomfortable. The store was requesting that police tell the man to move along. The man was gone prior to police’s arrival.

On Nov. 6 at 6:58 p.m. in the 800 block of Sheridan Street, a woman called police, asking if they could help her in locating her vehicle. She did not believe it to be stolen, but did not know its location. Police located the vehicle.

On Nov. 6 at 7:44 p.m. in the 600 block of Hancock Street, police were called for a couple in a downstairs apartment screaming at each other. Police learned it was an argument between a mother and her grade school-aged son. Police offered suggestions to better handle the situation. No crime was committed.

On Nov. 7 at 8:16 a.m. in the 1800 block of Jefferson Street, police were called for a man yelling at a woman and arguing with several people at the courthouse. Police de-escalated the situation, and convinced the man to return later, when his appointment at the courthouse was scheduled.

On Nov. 7 at 10:56 a.m. in the 700 block of Clay Street, police were called for a man wearing a gray beanie, dark hoodie and black pants who was taking photos of a residence on his phone. The resident was concerned the man was casing their house and other homes in the area.

On Nov. 7 at 11:59 a.m. in the area of the Boat Haven, police were called for an engine dumped in the water, along the marina jetty on a trail.

On Nov. 7 at 1:09 p.m. in the 800 block of West Park Avenue, a man who appeared intoxicated became upset at staff, and began kicking and throwing things around, and knocking items off of a desk. Staff activated an alarm and police responded. The man was gone prior to police’s arrival, but had caused damage to the facility.

On Nov. 7 at 1:36 p.m. in the 800 block of West Park Avenue, a man reported two backpacks were stolen from the public area of a business.

On Nov. 7 at 2:36 p.m. at Sims Way and Cliff Street, a person called the police, concerned about children’s welfare, as a transient was sleeping on a bus stop bench. Police spoke with the man, who stated he was working with OlyCAP and the shelter, and did not want further assistance. The man left.

On Nov. 7 at 3:44 p.m. in the 1100 block of Landes, police were called for an intoxicated man yelling at his mother outside of a business. Police spoke with both individuals, and de-escalated the man, who was frustrated about finances. No crime was committed.

On Nov. 7 at 6:55 p.m. at Tyler and Water streets, a woman reported someone entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked downtown and stole an African-style basket containing miscellaneous items. Also stolen were tokens from the Farmers Market.

On Nov. 8 at 10:49 a.m. in the 500 block of Hendricks Street, a woman reported that a man, who had been trespassed from her property, walked through her property and continued on his way.

On Nov. 8 at 11:21 a.m. in the 2700 block of Discovery Road, police were called by a property owner for a large transient encampment unwanted on their property. Police did not locate anyone at the site, but noticed a tent and large amounts of wet or damp items strewn over an approximately 25-foot square area. The property owner planned to put up no-trespassing signs again, and clean up the property.

On Nov. 8 at 12:16 p.m. in the 800 block of Sims Way, police were called for a vehicle illegally passing on the Sims Way S-curves. Police were not able to locate the vehicle.

On Nov. 8 at 3:41 p.m. at San Juan and F Street, police were called for a suspicious man, standing on the sidewalk after school, watching kids. The man was gone before police arrived.

On Nov. 8 at 4:45 p.m. in the 1400 block of Sims Way, a person called police to complain about the gas prices in town, thinking they were too high. Police explained they are private businesses, and can charge what they want.

On Nov. 9 at 9:23 a.m. in the 800 block of Hancock, police were called for a verbal dispute between roommates over disagreements about food and dishes. There was no crime, but police assisted with mediating the dispute.

On Nov. 9 at 5:25 p.m. in the 2100 block of Sims Way, a woman drove onto the median, getting her car stuck, necessitating a tow truck to get it out. The woman was issued a traffic citation.

On Nov. 10 at 10:20 a.m. in the 1500 block of Water Street, police were called by workers at a restaurant when a man came in, being disruptive, and staff recognized him as the same man who did not pay when he ate there previously. The restaurant asked police to trespass the man from the premises. Police did so.

On Nov. 10 at 12:04 p.m. in the 4600 block of Willamette Street, a person called to report several bushels of apples were stolen from their trees.

On Nov. 10 at 11:23 p.m. in the 1600 block of 9th Street, a person reported their mailbox was damaged by an unknown car. The person was alerted to it by the sound of a crash.
