Can someone tell all the people who visit North Beach County Park to wear masks please?

It is not safe to go there now, and the neighborhood residents stay far away from the park because of this.

Weekends are the worst. Scores of runners use the trails, unmasked, and so do many, many people who visit from elsewhere.

There are COVID cases in the North Beach neighborhood.

Stay home, under your bed!

She was just asking those visiting the North Beach area to help to make our community as safe as possible. Hiding under the bed is what Trump and the Republicans wanted. How has that worked out for ND, SD, across the middle of the country.

Get over it, the Adults are in charge now.

Hiding under the bed is what anonymous commenters do. I heard your reason Just Inhale. I reject it. Scarantino at the free press has been vocal for years with stances similar to yours, and a wide range of sensitive local and regional issues "Justin". He's just fine. Grow a pair.

Marge- you didn't answer the question from the story link below about your comments, and 80 more being deleted by someone at this very paper. That's censorship. I left you some new quotes to think about.

https://www.ptleader.com/stories/gov-inslee-orders-ramped-up-restrictions-on-public-gatherings-businesses-as-covid-19-outbreak,72189?

Please finish up there Marge. We all know you and "Justin" will argue along the same lines forever about masks. Please comment on a real local issue you were victim of.

MB face it, hiding under the bed to keep from acknowledging the Pandemic was how the Republicans came to do nothing but cause sickness and death across the country. This pandemic will only be over when people like you decide to accept science. Wear a mask, distance, wash your hands. Guess what? It works.

HarveyW Most newspapers do not "save" the comments section of a newspaper. I have no problem with those being deleted. If you would like your comments to be saved write a letter to the editor. I index those along with other PTL articles for the JCHS Research Center. They are in bound copies available to the public and on line since 2016. It is interesting to look back and see what people were saying about what was happening in Jefferson County through the letters from local citizens.

Enjoy Thanksgiving, stay safe and keep others safe.

Gee Marge. Thanks for doing in depth research of all papers and policies. How many are in your data base? Did you notice that other comments not so important to current situation at Fort Worden/FWPDA mismanagement at the same time period are intact? One had to actively go in and surgically remove specific comments. Fingers in ears Marge and Tom can join you chanting la la la la while doing so. Your reality is of a fragile construction.

Also Marge, print copies of letters to the editor have no discussion or deeper understanding of the subject matter.

This writer of this comment we are in now asks "someone". Can someone tell all the people who visit North Beach County Park to wear masks please? How would that work. People are from many places and backgrounds at the park. Who is "someone"? No response here to that major issue of logistics and reality.

Her I go with your plan Marge Dear Editor please save the comments you deleted or someone did in 2012 that you would say you have no record of. How will that work Marge? The current manifestation of the Leader never contacted me to restore the deleted 80 or so comments. Your wall of denial locally is tall and wide. If you cracked it by acknowledging censorship right here in River City your whole construct of your local world might shatter. Be safe Marge. Not with Masks. With your denial allowing you to feel safe here in a corrupted political cesspool that took "your" property. No disrespect Marge. Its for your own good.

If you can't keep track of what the letter is expressing, please read again, and if you want to comment stick to the subject. Another lesson I have finally learned. What Sally Kiely was asking is that if you visit the area please wear a mask. I agree with her.

The letter/opinion piece said nothing about politics, my response to it said nothing about politics. Hey, if you want to wear a mask everywhere you go feel free to, if you're afraid to go to the park/outdoors where there are people not wearing masks don't go to the park or outdoors. If you expect me to wear a mask outdoors where I can safely distance myself from others you're dreaming.

Harvey W. don't tell me what I need to do.

Marge- You bailed on the subject here

https://www.ptleader.com/stories/gov-inslee-orders-ramped-up-restrictions-on-public-gatherings-businesses-as-covid-19-outbreak,72189?

and went somewhere else you could do the safe thing and tell people to wear masks. Are you changing lives and influencing people? I was taught to finish one thing before going on to another. Even if it makes your head hurt. You did finally here say that your contribution locally is to not see censorship and control of history by this paper as such. Each generation seems to have greater and greater tolerance to censorship, or not notice it. I think highlighting problems is important. We differ greatly on that. You want to think all is well here in River City. It's not.

To the subject of this letter. And the wish to change human nature.

Regarding outside mask wearing Mr. Inhale is correct in my book when he wears masks out of respect indoors and does not outside where air circulation and distance reduce transmission potential greatly. He may not think it is important but he sacrifices for the sake of just getting along. He chooses his battles. The problem is in my world even when folks think they are entering my business wearing a mask, many have synthetic gators or bandanas that don't work well at all and can even dissipate a cough into smaller droplets that linger. Science.

Huge signage not seen by many explains our conditions of entry. My manager and I let people into our safe bubble. We maximize our protection, even down to hepa and plasma filtration. Most would want the best protection when being exposed to hundreds of strangers in an inside space.

Many others, many many others don't seem to be able to get a mask that doesn't fall off their face over and over and over and over again. Even after all this time to figure it out. I am amazed some are able to keep their pants up. Very convenient to wear a mask so sloppy its like not wearing one at all. Many hang their noses out and pretend the mask is working. Point is inside or outside we are at the mercy of the ability of others to understand how masks work and how and when they don't. Point is a significant number of folks can't make reasonable decisions in varying circumstances. Regarding masks and lots of other issues too. Of course reasonable is subjective. Is it a big hoax? I speak with many healthcare pros who see first hand what they say is a real problem. So there you have it.

MR. Inhale- I withdraw the direction that you and Marge get over each other and I apologize. Do as you wish. Promote the "they will come and get me" mind set and stay anonymous. It does serve to paint the "other side" as dangerous. With all due respect Marge and you come off as a bickering old couple. Same thing over and over again. Trump/masks. Trump/masks. Trump/masks. Keep it up as you will.

The FWPDA malfeasance and censorship thing is ongoing and unfolding now. Marge lets the powers that be see the average person doesn't really follow the details, doesn't follow up on questions she asked in 2012, and is fine with missing history. It will all be fine, everyone says they won't do it again. Smiles. This will all be deleted in good time if someone at a future time wants anyway. Never happened. It happens. Back to your regularly scheduled bickering.

Harvey, How can it be censorship if the PDA story is out, courtesy of the Leader, and we know about it? The Right claims the Hunter Biden story was censored but it is out there for anyone to read. No secrets, no indictments. You have covered the parking situation without censorship but still claim your are not allowed to put the subject before the People. The Right says they are censored on Facebook. Then ask for your money back! Or quit FB. Where does the silliness end? In the USA you get your say. So be quiet!

Justin- Keep at it. The last thing I want to see is just one point of view.

Here is the thing Gary- Do you personally know anyone involved as part of the PT power gang? "In the USA you get your say. So be quiet!" He actually said that............. Go back to sleep folks, nothing to see here.

"You have covered the parking situation without censorship but still claim your are not allowed to put the subject before the People." This is a mis statement of fact Gary. I never claimed that. The people do need to think about changing from a no term limit City Council and corruptible City Manager with appointed Mayor to an elected mayor with term limits on Council. The City Council and City Manager ignore parking that benefits the appointed Mayor's real estate industry. I put that before the people repeatedly. You attempt to blend many specific things into one including of all things Hunter Biden and dismiss it. Not very well either.

It is a fact that someone removed valuable historic records which took the form of Leader comments. They were unusual because of the number and quality of the comments. Just the comments (and relevant links) were removed on FWPDA stories. Other stories from that time are intact.

The comments were unusual because they were moderated by the front person for the FWPDA who also owned the local paper. The comments showed concerns that came to be shown as right on. Right now the FWPDA is about as torn apart as it ever will be with criminal investigations. It seems beneficial in all human events to know how we got where we are. It seems most likely that the same forces that allowed the current problems will not self correct. State and City. It is how it is. For the public to know previous concerns and overlay those with current possible re structuring, is or should be of interest to those looking beneath the surface.

It is also a fact Gary that with everything in Port Townsend from ignoring parking and discriminating against

some I deal with daily, and creating a very rude culture, to mismanagement of the Public asset that is Fort Worden not seeming to bother the public at large, a major social change is occurring. Most simply not paying attention as government does not follow its laws and codes is troubling to some. Not you apparently.

The FWPDA is a shadow organization of the City of Port Townsend and controlled by it, and it seems the Democratic machine here. Just a fact. Non partisan. If someone like myself points out problems and folks like you see no problem it is how it is. It seems party lines come into play. Gary.

If I run flags up the flag pole, who salutes it is noted. Some do salute. Perhaps not you. Still, if there is a smoldering fire one should point it out. So Gary, be comfortable, advise me to be quiet. Others have as well. I am honored by those that disagree with me and proud to be different. Black Friday was celebrated in PT with the regulars parked all day around my business, reducing access for many businesses. No new news.

Folks with nothing to fear mis handled millions of dollars at Fort Worden. Folks will lose interest and not know how we got here and how we will most likely keep on the same track with minimal changes benefiting special interests and not the greater public.

Here is some Orwell Gary. Of course these are these times in a very special place called Port Townsend. Nothing like this relates to here. Does it? Orwell talked a lot about "the party".

Get your missing leader comments from harvey@forestgems.com Some are looking deeper and past the simple surface.

Orwell- "The most effective way to destroy people is to deny and obliterate their own understanding of their history." The State Park campus was taken by a few locals as the FWPDA in spite of articulate public input warning of the current situation.

The public record that was important for the FWPDA to participate in was wiped clean. "Threats to freedom of speech, writing and action, though often trivial in isolation, are cumulative in their effect and, unless checked, lead to a general disrespect for the rights of the citizen."

What you hear from those responsible according to Orwell- Gary

"Political writing in our time consists almost entirely of prefabricated phrases bolted together like the pieces of a child's Meccano set. It is the unavoidable result of self-censorship. To write in plain, vigorous language one has to think fearlessly, and if one thinks fearlessly one cannot be politically orthodox."

When you don't see censorship all around you, according to Orwell- “You will be hollow. We shall squeeze you empty, and then we shall fill you with ourselves.”

Because “Everyone believes in the atrocities of the enemy and disbelieves in those of his own side, without ever bothering to examine the evidence.”

With someone eliminating valid public input in the Leader archives- "The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth."

So, "In a time of universal deceit - telling the truth is a revolutionary act." George Orwell

Gary- Your response is as expected. I can't run for anything in this City because I live outside the City limits but do run a business here for 24 years. 25 in Jan. I also hold the public as responsible as their elected officials for not paying attention to what those they vote for do and don't do.

Regarding Orwell blocking my parking, he's as dead as discussion of the subject is by the No Term Limit City Council, and the City Manager they hired not to deal with parking, as is in his job description to fund all departments. He will now hire a new police chief who will also not be allowed to follow an oath of office to uphold all laws and codes. Silly me.

Today Saturday morning I have 6 neighbors blocking parking. Many more are around all over town. Orwell does speak to timeless human nature. Censorship can take the form of what is not discussed in local papers and nationally. Parking under a different Editor was very much discussed. Then the Editor suddenly left. No parking stories now.

Here is something else not to think about, more human nature. Thanks for your never to happen vote.

A straw man (sometimes written as strawman, also sometimes straw dog[1][2]) is a form of argument and an informal fallacy of having the impression of refuting an argument, whereas the proper idea of argument under discussion was not addressed or properly refuted.[3] One who engages in this fallacy is said to be "attacking a straw man".

The typical straw man argument creates the illusion of having completely refuted or defeated an opponent's proposition through the covert replacement of it with a different proposition (i.e., "stand up a straw man") and the subsequent refutation of that false argument ("knock down a straw man") instead of the opponent's proposition.[4][5] Straw man arguments have been used throughout history in polemical debate, particularly regarding highly charged emotional subjects.

Gary et al-

If you go to the tabs at the top of the Leader page you will find Opinion and drop down box to Editorials.

There really aren't any regarding local politics anymore. There is one the new publisher did that asks what we want to see in the Leader. I hope my answer Gary et al explains my sense of the Leader. It is not one continuous Leader. Many owners, publishers, and editors over time have done their brand of reporting. It is a business. How the Leader dealt with the observation that the Leader archives were cleansed and edited defines this current Leader. Silence. Could have been "oops how did that happen please send us copies and we will speedily replace them". Actions today regarding actions in the past defines those in control today. It isn't complicated Gary. Here is my response from 5/13/20. Anonymous "Sheila" wades in to say visitors can find parking in obscure places that residents and workers should be using and does a straw man on the point that visitor parking is hogged with City approval. She pops up now and then as a real booster of the status quo. It is what it is. Mike who uses his real name compares local news outlets.

Now about my sense of the Leader, May of this year. More stories have broken regarding broken Government. Two local news outlets dig to varying depths. One is covering up public input that it could easily make a non issue.

Hi Donna-

Welcome- As always I am long on words, but a stand alone comment with some detail is needed.

I own the business across the street, Forest Gems Woodcraft, currently closed. I was a fervent supporter of the Leader for a while. For years I knew the Leader as a mouthpiece for the FWPDA, that took part of Fort Worden from all the people of the State, and put it into the hands of the local special interest status quo.

With a brief exception, The Leader took no issue with the no term limit City Council, and the Mayor they appoint from within (currently a 3 term appointed Mayor with a near 20 year history of over spending on curb appeal as a Council Member, who's influence grew with the years. The Leader described her as "outspoken". She is very quiet about parking, ignoring studies, and kicking the problem endlessly down the road.

The $1.2 million visitor center concrete and carbon heavy "park" is an example. $600k cost (for what) and $600k to finance. The opening of the park was the first time the new City Manager met his public. Your readers owe that money, and don't seem to mind. Why should the local paper? Give them what they want.

The 3 time appointed Mayor, who has her own parking lot for her Real Estate franchise just outside the historic district, participated in actively deconstructing the volunteer parking program, and ignoring expensive studies, which benefited developing the upper floors of Water Street. There are no requirements for parking for new occupation or development that has grown. Things got out of whack with a 20 year City Manager, that many say did not act in the best public interest. Creating chaos is not planning as it is supposed to be. When the 3 term Mayor again took office she did nothing regarding parking.

The Leader, under the very temporary Editor Dean Miller, who's background was open government, took on for a brief moment the issue of manufactured parking problems and more, including the less than open process for selecting the new City Manager.

Parking deconstruction gave us all a cultural shift to "me first" by many residents and workers displacing their own and everyone's customers. The Leader found missing parking funds related to permits involving the Silverwater. The story and all related deconstructed parking issues going back 5 years died. The focus died. The public yawned. Dean Miller left for a job that more suited his abilities.

Newspapers can do fun things like the Rhody Fest section you speak of. Historically newspapers are most important as the "Fourth Estate" DEFINITION--The term Fourth Estate or fourth power refers to the press and news media both in explicit capacity of advocacy and implicit ability to frame political issues. Though it is not formally recognized as a part of a political system, it wields significant indirect social influence.

So the Leader lost focus, and Dean Miller, and my sense of its potential. One reporter moved to entertainment. The parking problems continue, of course not visible for the last 2 months, but will factor into any recovery at the hands of our new and improved (if you believe the PR) City Manager. He took on the job knowing full well about ignored municipal codes he is responsible to fund. He hired a new interim Police Chief who is not allowed to fulfill his entire obligations and oath of office. Corrupted thinking at the top flows down hill. No mask can keep you from catching it, or hide your face for those that look past the masks.

What was the understanding the incoming City Manager had with the same old Council member and appointed Mayor who vetted and hired him? The public didn't care. The public still doesn't care, it seems. We get the government and news we deserve. Locally and nationally. Locally, one like myself is portrayed as picking on individuals. Some individuals want all the rewards and no responsibility.

17 million in City Debt, 1.7 million yearly debt service that eliminated funds for road maintenance and moderate income housing. The housing lost out as REET funds were used elsewhere. Obviously, tax revenue is way down, things won't be improving any time soon unless bankruptcy is declared.

The last from the new City Manager is that he will look into parking, which has been done, and promises of solutions I have from the last City Manager broken. A convenient reset, trashing many studies and common sense. Now, who benefits?

So, some will miss Rhody Fest this year. I miss the town I thought I was a part of for 25 years. But lets all think happy thoughts. Lets not make problems for our Council and Mayor. Things are tough right now. Some people just won't let things be, like the Leader and its readership did.

So, I step up with a little history so you can make your choices with information from many sources. I know you have met the Status Quo. Welcome to PT. Don't rock the boat, its had a slow leak for years.

Concerning parking downtown;

I have lived in P.T. for many years, and most of the time , unless it's a festival or a busy summer weekend, there isn't, if you're not too lazy, that much of a problem parking if you just look around. I wish merchants would stop complaining about it. You may need to drive around the block, and you might not be able to park right smack in front of the exact store you want to go in to, and you might need to walk a block or two. Geez. Get out and walk a bit and enjoy our cute downtown. You might discover something new!

The 'secret' places are; up the hill a bit on either end of downtown,(Washington and Monroe Streets)and also above downtown and walk down the steps to the fountain. (pretty much unlimited parking up there) Yeah, sure ,it won't work for the disabled, of course, but they have their own spots.

The classic head shaker for me was when I first met a young shopkeeper years ago who was just starting out downtown, and her idea for parking was to turn the athletic field into a parking garage. At the time I was horrified at such a cheek from someone who had just barely unpacked here. What an horrific thought.

Shiela- Because you choose to be anonymous you could easily be the Appointed Mayor, past or present City Manager, any No Term Limit Council member or just someone who doesn't see a bigger picture. Ignoring laws and codes to benefit those in power.

I see parking problems pre covid daily and assure you some merchants are the problem as well as employees and residents. Residents now have no requirements in new or re sold condos for parking. All day if you like. No problem. The ballfield threat has been used repeatedly as a worst case not even considered threat to anyone talking of the very real parking problems. Why not proudly use your name? Your data if pretty flawed to get to your point. All is Grrrrrreat!!!!!!

Why isn't Memorial Field used as a parking area? Maybe even a double-decker? The only times I see it used is for football games, car shows and carnivals. Couldn't those activities be done elsewhere? I see where Kris N. has taken parking spaces for outside dining, I see where that space next to the new Chi Chi wine bar is now closed to parking. Often during tourist season I will not even come into town because the parking situation was terrible, now it's even worse.

Marge samuelson

This is not related to the letter to the editor:

The reason Memorial Field is not available for a parking lot, is because it is owned by the Jefferson County Government. It is part of the Jefferson County Recreation and Parks department. In the 1940s some of the land was donated by a family that agreed to give the land to the county for a memorial athletic field to honor those who lost their lives in World War I and World War II. Part of the agreement was that it could not be sold or used for any other purposes. The fence that surrounds it was paid for by local businesses that used it for advertising.

The field has many sports played on it, from soccer to baseball, football, mostly PTHS and CHS sports teams and JC recreation soccer and football teams. After the construction of the City Hall Annex was built, Madison street was no longer available for the Rhody carnival. They have used the field for a few years but it is not a permanent solution. A few years ago, Rocky Friedman, from the Rose Theatre set up a giant screen and showed free movies there in the summer. The field is a Jefferson County Park and should not be changed to make a parking lot. This pandemic will be over at some point and our lives will get back to normal. Memorial Field is part of our history and a very important community resource.

We are lucky to have Marge to give background on our history. Some of her history of participation is history. (Deleted Leader comments with her official blessing.)

About Memorial Field Mr. Inhale. Memorial Field is mostly used to frighten folks with threats to losing it if they complain about parking. A guy named Tom did it quite a bit last year. It has never been in any real danger.

The real question is why nothing at all is done, after expensive study after study, and the email I have from 20 year City Manager Timmons a couple of years ago promising action. Timmons is now shredding documents at Fort Worden. (Of course that's a joke, shredding and action on parking). The Transportation Committee study when "new" City Manager Mauro started, headed by a senior No Term Limit Council member who helped defund and deconstruct parking enforcement just fizzled out apparently. No one noticed. Too busy maybe worrying about Memorial Field.

Nice to see you and Marge getting along with the Q and A. For now.

Wear your masks. That was for Marge and the person who was kind enough to let us stray from her original subject matter. Or did we? Respect. We're all stuck with each other.

Regardless of what was agreed to 80 some years ago, I still think the better use of M.F. would be for parking. Isn't there a field at JHS? and I know there is plenty of room at CHS for a field. It's frustrating when looking for a parking spot during tourist season and see that big field empty.

Sir Exhale. Dealing with parking at all is not going to happen. The ball field is off limits and never on the table. Aside from what Marge described, during some recent work Native American bones were discovered. Do not get side tracked with the ball field as remotely possible for any form of parking. Even temporary summer parking there would require the corrupted powers that be, with a 3 time appointed mayor with her own parking lot at Windermere, to admit parking problems exist at all. She managed into existence today's problems. No plan. No plan at all. No enforcement. No enforcement at all. FYI a couple of years ago it was said that parking garages cost $20,000 per space. The cost of the no public input butt ugly visitor center "park" then cost 30 parking spaces. Twice that with financing. The best place for a parking garage? I think at the Windermere location, no historic buildings there, close to ferry, and able to be set back against the hillside terraced with public spaces. Don't hold your breath on that one.

Where are we headed?

We have John Mauro as City Manager now, who commented early on in this paper, "perhaps we need less parking". You need to check out his background to understand that. Look here. No mention at all in the Leader of this unqualified tool taking over.

https://www.porttownsendfreepress.com/2020/10/07/who-is-john-mauro-port-townsends-city-manager/

Mauro was chosen to be a compromised individual from the start. A tool to do as needed to move into the Mayor For Life that Timmons his predecessor was, with a spineless (few exceptions) No Term Limit City Council to do as directed. Cart leads horse. Horse led by unseen forces.. Timmons did that for 20 years according to many. He left a 17 million dollar city debt and failing roads, plus much more kicked down the road like parking. Now he is at Fort Worden cleaning up, Who better? Who worse?

You can't make this stuff up.

There is a glowing story of streeteries in this paper, now covered, taking more parking. Of course we all want each other's businesses to succeed. At some point streeteries will take, on a regular basis, needed parking to an even greater extent than now. Right now on some days parking is full. I see it. No study needed. This is the best time to make a plan for all business access for "recovery". Mauro in his "engage" PT publicity move had no mention of parking. Go figure. Enrage PT. But he didn't. We sleep.

City Manager Mauro and Main Street (the president is an owner of several eateries) have the "Open Streets initiative" that closed down Taylor for a while. I wrote a letter to the City Attorney asking for clarification as to legality of that. The City Council now must approve, and the grand plan to shut down Taylor for eats, impacting negatively all business, was re branded as a temporary experiment. And re opened. It was a test.

I could go on and on and on regarding no parking enforcement for 6 years and its purposeful deconstruction and de funding, and absolutely no plan. A police representative wrote a letter in Leader comments last year explaining the responsibility rests with the No Term Limit Council and funding. The volunteer program was as cost effective as is possible. He mentioned a "dumbing down" as well on other issues. Expensive studies ignored. Timmons promising me on record 2 years ago of resuming enforcement, and more importantly what I call 'Fair Parking Facilitation" which includes education for those hogging parking, killing off their own businesses and businesses in their neighborhoods with resident parking. Visitors need information as well.

Right now today and for years visitors from in town and further are treated as fools expected to follow 2 hour signage while many locals know they get a free all day pass. That is discrimination. Michelle Sandoval, 20 year council member and appointed mayor 3 times is the architect. It benefits her industry, not just Windermere but all realtors here in PT, Many know it. So many do nothing. So on and on it goes. I can only document it. Now I fully expect comments like this will be deleted eventually like the 2012 FWPDA comments.

It is not just a summer "tourist" issue. One set of photos I sent to City Council, Main Street, Chamber, Police Chief, and Leader one April a couple of years ago showed my business blockaded with all day parkers, and customers walking several blocks in the rain to load up purchases. My customer parked in the only available place up Washington in an all day spot and walked in the rain to my business and back to get his vehicle to load. The people directly responsible and those enabling like booster organizations sicken me. So corrupted they don't even see it. The very culture on the street has changed. Sandoval makes money.

The corrupted incompetence is staggering. That voters keep voting in the same dysfunction is mind boggling.

So, that is it for now. This will change nothing and will be seen as a "rant" by some. Back to the original letter. Wear your masks or don't. Respect and disrespect manifest in so many ways, and in so many places.

Try parking uptown, take a bus, walk from the park & ride, ride a bicycle. These are better choices.. And don't forget to Wear a mask and distance. Quit whining about parking, there is just so much room in Port Townsend. At one time Memorial Field was a swamp that was filled in from the banks behind Point Hudson, the Port Townsend Chinese Community lived there until it burned down in the early 1900s. It was made into a memorial athletic field in the 1940s. Best use of public land, something that families can use. We are not just about tourism, some people actually live here.

God bless you Marge and the simple world you inhabit. Your denial is deep and wide. You should be on the City and Leader payroll.

........and Marge the Straw man you just hastily constructed and thought you knocked down to refute the detail I provided is embarrassing. You broadcast what you don't know or understand. "Tourists" or visitors do come here as well as a significant number of blessed "locals" that I serve daily as do eateries and other businesses. You support City Government not following its laws and codes. You support the Leader deleting comments which are part of the History you think you honor. If you represent the majority god help us. If you think your last comment did anything but define yourself you are mistaken.

The truth is there is no more available land for parking. If I am wrong let the local government know, I am sure they would like to know where this imagined land is. Remember, I said available land.

As a member of the business community I would think you could at least follow the thread of this letter. I believe the person is talking about wearing a mask at North Beach County Park. What does that have to do with your overly long diatribes about city government? If it so horrible for you, why not run for office and show them how it's done.

You might want to read a little history instead of dismissing it " the simple world you inhabit."

I answered your question about comments "disappearing" You didn't like my answer, but I stand by it. A comment is not meant to go down in history, it's an opinion.

I know enough history Marge to know it repeats itself due to certain forces. You as a type of person and myself as a type of person see those forces differently and react differently, or not at all in some cases.

I explained once in this string and once to you in another I don't live in the City Limits and cannot run for office. To do so I would need to think people understood the core issues. You didn't catch that detail or many many others. No hard feelings. I hope this is educational for some. That's all. History shows there will be no trace of these comments some day. Some answered, with straw men. No responses to how City Government is off track. You get the government and respect you deserve and ask for. Beg for. None think of themselves as the masses, although they tend to stay hidden within the mass.

Marge reminds us to all wear our masks. The end.

We have a spike in Covid-19. Please wear a mask and distance. Even if your out walking at North Beach or one of the wonderful trails we have. If no one is there, by all means take off your mask, pull it up if you encounter someone and distance. Simple rules. Thanks for reminding us Sally.

Follow rules and respect others. Unless you are PT City Government. Thanks Marge.
