Karen Sweeney said she saw a coyote strolling down Garfield Street May 10 as she was coming up Van Buren so pulled out her phone and rolled down her car window, thinking she’d get a cool shot of Wile E. Coyote in town. “To my surprise, he started pacing back and forth, wouldn’t go past a certain yard on Garfield. So I stopped to take the photo, and then I saw why he was spooked,” she wrote in an email of an incident between the coyote and a no-so-friendly Uptown deer at the corner of Pierce and Garfield.
