A makeshift bed complete with sheets and pillows, is part of what designers call the “Ole Townsend Gentrify Project,” an art installation in an Uptown alley between the Printery Communications office and The Business Guides on Tyler Street. The art installation project includes a free little library, with books, a Crock-Pot and soup kettle along with a model of a tiny house with “$1,200 a Month” on it. A sign behind the bed, in a gold frame, proclaims “Affordable Uptown Unit, first, last, $5,000 deposit, many nice amenities, park(ing), wildlife view(ing), Wi-Fi, centrally located, ambient Growler sound therapy, potential herb garden, stable income required and background & IQ check.” The display also has a sign advertising an “H20 shower.” The installation was the creation of Tracey Buetow and Oliver Herning.
