PHOTO: 2 injured after SUV flies into tree

Two women were flown to Seattle with injuries after a blue Dodge Durango SUV drifted off the pavement, hit a driveway berm and became airborne near the 800 block of Four Corners Road, crashing into a tree at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, according to a press release from East Jefferson Fire Rescue. The driver, Ja Nelle Strong, 31, of Chimacum, was flown to Harborview Medical Center with unknown injuries. Passenger Brianna Thibeault, 25, was also airlifted with unknown injuries. The SUV impacted the tree trunk at a height of 9 feet 4 inches, according to Art Frank, chief criminal deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff's office.
