Republicans in Congress are a bunch of spineless cowards. Their failure to convict an obviously guilty ex-president of inciting violence that caused five deaths and destruction of federal property is alarming.
It seems there is no depth too low for a political party needing to appease its deluded base of support. The Republican Party is virulent and rotten to the core and careening down the path toward fascism.
I don’t believe there are enough honorable Republicans to right the ship and steer it back to something rational that honors the norms of a functioning democracy.
I fear for the future of our country as long as a large segment of the population supports a politics of lies, delusions and a nearly complete break with objective reality.
Trumpism is a personality cult whose believers have symptoms akin to a mental illness.
Take note, those of you who have a conscience, these people can not be allowed to control the levers of power.
They are endangering all of us and the future of American democracy.
