The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received 218 calls for service between Saturday, Dec. 18 and Friday, Dec. 24. Below are selected reports.

At 7:23 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 in Quilcene, a caller reported a suspicious incident. Two people were at the end of the driveway.

The caller spoke with a woman in the driveway, who said she had just dropped off a friend in the area. The caller didn’t see anyone else around, didn’t recognize the woman, and felt she shouldn’t be there.

The woman said she was dropping off her boyfriend’s male work friend, the work friend’s girlfriend, and the workfriend’s girlfriend’s daughter.

A deputy found the person had just finished changing a deflated tire.

At 7:47 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 in Sequim, a caller reported the aftermath of what appeared to be a drunken party at the Gardiner Community Center.

Significant damage was reported. An estimate of the damages was being prepared.

A deputy responded and took photographs and collected several fingerprints.

At 1:58 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22 in Nordland, a suspicious vehicle was reported in the caller’s driveway.

The caller’s wife made contact with the driver of the vehicle; he said he needed gas.

He was told they didn’t have any.

The wife thought the whole thing was fishy, and it was thought the man was casing homes in the area to burglarize.

The caller was told to call again if the man came back.

At 8:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 23 in Port Hadlock, a caller reported a vicious animal in the area.

The dog was described as red and brown with floppy ears.

He said the dog appeared friendly until it approached his dog. He said the dog also snarled at him.

The caller said it was an ongoing issue.

A deputy patrolled the area and determined the dog was not an issue at this time.
