Paris, Rome, London, Sequim

Posted

You’ve seen the photos–grand cities like Paris, Rome and London deserted and desolate, not a soul anywhere. I think I even saw one of the Vatican with a tumbleweed blowing through the square.

Well, I had to make a Walmart run this week and little did we know how lucky Port Townsend is to be neighbors with the most magical place in the–Sequim!

Yes, that plucky town was bustling and vibrant–you’d never know a global pandemic was happening in their neck of the woods! Cars backed up at each light, parking lots full, people on the street–those lucky inhabitants, so confident in their enchanted immunity, I bet it shows as a glowing dome at night over the city limits. Traffic in and out of town was roaring too, so news of this sorcery must be spreading.

We are truly fortunate to be so near, and yet I am glad not THAT near to such a bustling hive of mystic immune citizens, unfazed by the tribulations of us lesser mortals. My only request is that please, revel in your magic and don’t worry about visiting us here in Port Townsend...til after summer.
