James Cassidy will give a video presentation at the Chimacum Grange to explain where soil comes from and how to grow it Wednesday, June 15.

Cassidy is a soils professor at Oregon State University. He established a community supported agriculture farm to provide his students with hands-on opportunities to learn about crop production as well as the entrepreneurial aspects of farming.

During his presentation, Cassidy will share details about geology, along with helpful information about cover crops and crop rotation. He is described as an enthusiastic speaker who entertains as he informs.

The public is invited to come downstairs at 6:15 p.m. at the Chimacum Grange hall to visit and share in a simple potluck dinner, soup provided. The video presentation begins upstairs at 7 p.m.
