The Jefferson County Historical Society is set to host a reopening celebration for the 1868 Rothschild House on Taylor Street and the public is invited to attend.
Set from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, the reopening event will celebrate the unique objects within the historic home, the public land, and the Rothschild family.
It’s free to attend and donations are welcomed, and visitors are recommended to bring a picnic, tour the 154-year-old building, enjoy live music, play lawn games, and take in the gorgeous views from the bluff.
The picnic and open house kick off the historical society’s 2023 season, and the Rothschild House will return with open hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays starting May 5.
Accessibility-wise, the home’s interior has two levels only accessible via stairs. The grounds are at street level.
