A GoFundMe fundraiser has been started to help pay for the annual eighth-grade dinner and dance at Blue Heron Middle School.
The fundraiser was recently launched after a local parent stepped up to raise money when funding for the event was limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The online push for donations has a goal of $3,000.
Organizers note that a $25 donation can help buy a ticket for a student who doesn’t have the money to attend; $50 will help supply a festive outfit for a student who might otherwise avoid attending; and a gift of $100 could go toward food for the students.
To donate, go to gofund.me/d6840b45, Venmo @BHdd2022 (the last four digits of phone 1491 for confirmation) or make checks out to the Port Townsend School District.
