One body was found after fire broke out in an RV parked at Smitty's RV Park on Marrowstone Island July 28.
East Jefferson Fire Rescue was toned to the fire in the 9000 block of Flagler Road at 6:06 a.m. after neighbors heard noise outside and found an approximately 30-foot-long fifth-wheel recreational vehicle fully engulfed in flames, then called 911, according to EJFR Public Information Officer Bill Beezley.
Beezley credited firefighters from EJFR, Engine 91 from Naval Magazine Indian Island, and Port Ludlow Fire and Rescue with responding and knocking the fire down by about 6:30 a.m.
Beezley reported that a subsequent investigation identified the body of one man inside.
As of July 28, Beezley stated the cause of the fire is under investigation.
