William “Bill” Edwin Gaul

Brinnon, Wash.

Sept. 16, 1958 – Nov. 3, 2016

William “Bill” Gaul of Brinnon, Wash. passed away on Nov. 3, 2016. He was 58.

Bill was born on Sept. 16, 1958 to Kenneth Verne and Patricia (Robinson) Gaul in Port Angeles, Wash. He spent the rest of his life on the Olympic Peninsula.

Growing up in Port Angeles, Bill made his career as a truck driver for Blake Sand and Gravel before injuring his shoulder. At the time of his passing he resided in Brinnon helping out his parents and his sister.

Bill married Ronda Holman on June 9, 1979. They were married for 25 years and have two children and four grandchildren.

Bill enjoyed hiking, hunting and all things old time logging. He especially liked anything to do with steam whistles, steam donkeys, drag saws, etc. His passion for the outdoors was one of the defining characteristics of his life. He was an avid reader and loved to play with his grandkids. Bill also loved to joke and laugh.

Bill leaves behind his parents; his children Nathan (Gina) Gaul of Port Angeles and Jessica (Josh) Sanford of Springfield, Ore.: his grandchildren Alyse, Adelyn, Thatcher, and Desmond. He also leaves behind his brother Kenneth Gaul of Yelm, Wash. and sisters Jeanne Robinson of Shelton, Wash., Jaci (Randy) Rooney of Port Angeles, and Jenny Loring of Brinnon, Jodi (Al) Jaske of Lilliwaup, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews. 

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents and his brother-in-law.

A 1 p.m. memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 26 at Brinnon Community Church, 52 Church Road, Brinnon. The service was followed by a time of sharing and fellowship.
