Michael “Mike” McCone, 65, of Quilcene, Wash. passed away Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2017 surrounded by family. Born in Port Townsend, Mike started his logging career at 16, following in his father's footsteps. He possessed a spontaneous and quick wit, and love for life. He will be missed; we love you.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Wanda McCone Olin; brother Joey McCone; sister Patty McCone; and nephew Stephen Pettibone. He is survived by his sisters Dian McCone of Monroe, Wash.; Sally Pettibone and Julie Crowder both of Forks, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church, 294433 Highway 101, Quilcene. Viewing will start at 12:30 p.m., the memorial service follows at 1 p.m. Graveside service will be at the Quilcene Cemetery. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Quilcene Senior Center, 294952 Highway 101, in Quilcene.
