The PT School Board is now asking us to approve a capital levy that (1) will raise taxes higher than the current levy (not just a “replacement”) and (2) will “retire” the Lincoln Building. That building was already retired, many years ago. It’s a boarded up, empty eyesore. This Board already collected $500,000 in a previous capital levy that promised to demolish the Lincoln Building. They “diverted” that voter-approved money and the eyesore remains. We can’t trust the PT School Board on this matter. They already have our money, and now it’s time for them to spend that money and tear down the dangerous Lincoln Building relic. Fool me once … but not again. As a taxpayer in the PT School District, I say vote NO on Proposition 2.
