Northwind Art Gallery invites artists to enter Showcase 2026

“Showcase 2026,” Northwind Art’s year-long exhibition of artists around the region, is open for applications to its online portal through Oct. 19.

Three cohorts of 10 to 12 artists each will be invited to exhibit their work during three periods in 2026; the first round from Jan. 26 to May 11, the second round from May 14 to Sept. 7, and the third and final round from Sept. 10 to Jan. 4.

The venue will be Northwind’s Jeanette Best Gallery, at 701 Water St. in downtown Port Townsend, and artists will be chosen by a panel of Northwind Art curators; three Northwind Art gallery staff members and two local artists, Anne Schneider and Suzanne Lamon.

The panel will judge the quality, professionalism and sales potential of the work, and final artist selections will reflect a variety of media, techniques and styles, according to Northwind Art spokesperson Diane Urbani.

To provide more opportunities for local artists, and to show visitors more local art, Northwind is gearing the “Showcase 2026” program to artists living in Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, Kitsap and Island counties, although the application process is open to other regional artists outside of these counties.

All art must be hand-delivered to, and picked up from, the Jeanette Best Gallery in Port Townsend, where “Showcase 2025” is currently on display. The “Showcase 2025” exhibit includes painters, sculptors, a photographer, a ceramicist and mixed-media artists.

These artists come from Port Townsend, Port Angeles, Chimacum, Whidbey Island and Quilcene.

Visitors can see and purchase their works during regular gallery hours, from noon to 5 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays, and at any time online on Northwind Art’s website.
