Non-union PUD staff may get pay raise

Posted

Non-union employees with the Jefferson County Public Utility District could soon receive a cost-of-living increase, but at the cost of higher dental insurance prices.

The PUD’s board of commissioners discussed the potential move and consequences at their meeting Jan. 17, with staff stating that the anticipated cost-of-living increase will be higher than previously budgeted.

The current Consumer Price Index the board is anticipating is at 7.1 percent, according to the PUD.

The board is set to return with a resolution on the matter in its Jan. 24 special meeting, with the commissioners likely to pass a cost-of-living increase with the potential tradeoff of higher dental premiums for employees.
