Noise in PT is too much

When I moved here from Quilcene last summer I knew there would be more noise in Port Townsend than Quilcene but I have been astounded at the pervasiveness and volume of that noise.

I cannot take a walk without the accompaniment of audio disturbances from Growler jets, small planes, gunshots, chainsaws and lawn mowers. It is very unusual to have one moment of silence in the forest. Though the Growlers are by far the worst culprit in terms of noise, the other factors are also problematic.

I realize Port Townsend does not exist in a pristine state and that I may be something of an elderly crank but I don’t understand how a tourist town of this size can survive such an onslaught.
