I'm not sure anyone has said this and meant it. I'm thinking of several instances when "It's all good" was a response to a situation that, clearly, wasn't. No, I don't think Cody really meant it when I apologized for wave-hogging, taking a few waves I should have let someone else take. Like, um, Cody.

I don't think the guy truly meant "Have a nice day" when a landowner mentioned to him he was heading the wrong way on a one way, shared driveway. And I did ask the landowner if he knew what the driver meant when he said, "You have a nice day"as he continued on, headed for the entrance. "Oh, yeah. He meant..." We both agreed on the translation.

And, here we are, four vehicles at the four way stop, and it's 'you go,' 'no, you go..."

Okay, we know that analogy. What I'm really thinking, thinking while vying for a decent parking spot at Costco on May 1st (never go to Costco on the first of any month, evidently); what I think when there's a suddenly-long line at the one cashier and another one opens up and some guy who wasn't even in a line rushes up (and then has some time-sucking problem); what I think when our country's leader pushes past others for the optimal photo op; the REAL ANALOGY to our current times is that we're caught in the collector/distributor lanes, merging to the left as the sign indicates, and some are pushing it the end, and, when they have to finally merge left (never factoring in that this move is slowing all traffic), counting on the politeness (begrudging or not) of those who behaved properly (and I'm almost always one of those) to let them back in.

It's all good.

I have, actually, moved my vehicle over enough to prevent late-mergers access; I have tail-gated in order to force late-mergers (let's call them 'me-firsters') from pulling in ahead of me.  AND THEN, on the freeway, we all count on other drivers to let us into the flow.

"Thank you Thank you." Floor it! So, going with the flow. Flow on. Nothing political here. Just saying. I want to write, "And have a nice day," but I don't want anyone to take it the wrong way."
