New titles coming from Copper Canyon Press this spring

Posted

April is National Poetry Month and there are few who know poetry better than Port Townsend’s very own Copper Canyon Press. The nonprofit, independent poetry publisher believes poetry is vital to language and life.

With a goal to engage the minds and imaginations of readers,  Copper Canyon Press sets out to publish works of poetry from all over the world, from both revered and emerging poets, as well as translations of classical and contemporary poetry, re-issues of the classics and anthologies.

Copper Canyon Press has a lot in store as spring begins to bloom.

This season, forthcoming works include Nikki Wallschlaeger’s “Waterbaby”; Arthur Sze’s “The Glass Constellation”; “Water I Won’t Touch” by Kayleb Rae Candrilli; Kelli Russell Agodon’s “Dialogues with Rising Tides”; “The Essential June Jordan” by June Jordan, Jan Heller Levi, Christoph Keller, eds.; and Noah Warren’s “The Complete Stories.”

All this new poetry calls for celebration: Join Copper Canyon Press at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 5 for its spring Launch Party Livestream. The virtual event will include online poetry readings, a benefit, and a celebration of the spring releases. A selection of the published poets will read from their works and participate in a Q&A session.

The event will take place via Zoom. Get more information at coppercanyonpress.org.
