Chris Tucker, an experienced reporter, photographer and editor, has joined the Port Townsend & Jefferson County Leader.
Tucker, 43, has worked at The Central Kitsap Reporter, Bremerton Patriot and Peninsula Daily News as a photographer and reporter.
Tucker also served as an editor and photographer for the Whitefish Free Press in Montana, a newspaper he established.
Tucker majored in journalism at Northwest Missouri State University. And while he has an extensive background in newspapers, he also enjoys creative work, including making short movies and learning how to develop games for the iPhone. He recently created a two-minute movie called “Fly” for the Seattle Minute Movies.
He also recently won two first-place awards in a Washington Newspaper Publishers Association contest, one for a color feature photo and another for a long news story.
“Port Townsend is a beautiful city, and I can see why people enjoy living here. I’m learning a lot about boats and ports,” Tucker said.
