Almost one-third of the active registered voters in Jefferson County have sent their 2020 Primary Election ballots back in to be counted, the Jefferson County Elections Division reported Friday.
Through Friday, July 31, a total of 8,636 ballots have been returned and 8,517 have been accepted, according to county officials.
That's 32 percent of active voters in Jefferson County.
So far, 26,465 are registered to vote in the Aug. 4 Primary Election.
In-person voter registration will remain open until 8 p.m. on Election Day at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
