Potholes and pipe dreams go together.
I have learned to go around the potholes in my neighborhood as well as planting new pipe dreams into my life.
Instead of getting angry at the potholes I have memorized where they are located and trained myself to name each one after someone who is special in my life.
Instead of getting angry I laugh and keep driving around that pothole while hoping they will be filled in time.
My own life has been filled with many challenges, but I have learned over the many wonderful years living here in Port Townsend that things take time. Every good thing you want to happen takes time and some person to respond to your request.
I am grateful for the people who have filled those potholes and the women and men who wave back at me when I am walking my dog along a street with no shoulder.
Each day brings a new chance to open a new window in my home and let in some fresh air.
Summertime and this glorious weather in August keeps me going out the door, with my faithful dog to see the world unfold around me.
