Naval Magazine Indian Island will have a training exercise on the installation Thursday, Aug. 11, the Navy has announced.
Residents near the installation may hear blank ammunition being used during the drill, as well as loud sirens.
Training activities will include boats on the water near the pier’s security barrier, as well.
The Navy said announcements will also be broadcasted from the base’s loudspeaker notification system during the training.
The Navy conducts regular security exercises at installations across the world to guarantee readiness and verify response procedures.
