Wild Rose Chorale

For the sixth year in a row, the Wild Rose Chorale, Port Townsend’s a cappella vocal ensemble, is making as much as $1,000 in scholarships available to students of choral music.

“We want to encourage and foster the musical development of deserving young students,” said scholarship cochair Al Thompson. “It’s our challenge and our responsibility as adult musicians to help keep young people interested in music as a lifelong passion.”

Graduating high school seniors and those who are already attending colleges and universities may apply. To be eligible, students must be studying or continuing to participate in the field of choral music.

The competitive award or awards are based on factors that include strength of academic achievement, music proficiency and recommendations from a vocal music teacher plus two adults connected to the student through music, community or academia.
